Take A Bow Mr. Cudi... you have destroyed all comers

If you're a tad out of the loop... or temporarily internet-less (as am I) you may have missed the fact that Scotty's freshman album has leaked in full a few days before the official drop. I've had his LP on repeat for the past few hours and it is literally flawless. I can't encourage you enough to reserve your pre-release copy today.... and definitely opt for the cd/dvd deluxe edition. It's 100% worth the $14 bucks on Amazon.com and KiD CuDi deserves to have his outstanding new sound culminate in commercial success.

Update: You can get the deluxe edition for $12 or the cd for $10 with 2-day shipping included. Here's how... visit datnewcudi.com and get the promotional code for either the cd alone or the cd/dvd deluxe edition. Go to Amazon.com and put the item in the cart. During the checkout process enter the promo code you got from datnewcudi and then select the free 2 day shipping with your free trial of Amazon Prime. Be sure to cancel your Amazon Prime membership before the trial ends if you don't wish to pay for a full year of it automatically!

Of course you could always buy it from a retail store in person... but who does that anymore seriously? I'm too next level personally...

Just a few throwback Wale tracks and a few brand spankin new Cudi tracks. Nothing better than whiplash on a Friday afternoon? Maybe not so much... but you'll dig the music.

The Light (Yeah, it's the J Dilla track!)

A.D.D (Don't worry if you don't like the beat.... it's gonna change... a lot)

Today I came across two tracks from two of my favorite artists. Can you guess who? Don't worry I'm not that petty... Cudi and Hov. Both of their albums are expected to be hot fire and I literally cannot wait another day. Can somebody just put me into a coma until release day? Without further ado... an early glimpse of Man on the Moon: The End of the Day and Blueprint 3

Electro infused hip hop is exploding in a major way. It doesn't hurt that a new wave of lyrical-focused rappers are taking over the scene and sampling electro acts like Justice and Daft Punk in their music. The so called skinny jeans crew is quickly carving out a niche that's unlikely to disappear anytime soon... if you haven't boarded the train hop on before it leaves you behind.

Awesome (Feat. The Cool Kids) - The Bloody Beetroots

Kids (Feat. MGMT) - Chiddy Bang

Dat New New (VIKING Remix) - KiD CuDi

some jams for your summer

2:29 AM / Posted by NK / comments (0)

I'm at that point in the middle of the summer where I just roll along, so I'm going to leave you with 6 Midsummer tracks that just keep rolling...

1. Rollin - Big Sean
Big Sean is the next big thing, no joke.
Download his mixtapes free on his website.

2. ecstasy - jj
some swedes take "Lollipop" to new heights
"when I'm in the cluuuuuuub / I'm always on this druuuuuuug"
crazy trippy music video as well

3. November 18th - Drake
The late DJ Screw's slooooow "June 18th" beat... Drake is more than "Best I Ever Had"

4. Day N Nite Remix - Trey Songz
Autotune R&B is not necessarily my thing, but Trey Songz kills it on this Cudi remix

5. Girls, Sounds & Colors - Rich Hill feat. Kid Cudi
Any song with a Kid Cudi verse is a jam; I can't wait to see him August 5 in DC.

6. I Love College Remix - Blue Bear
Asher Rother dance remix.
peeped from Diplo's blog

2009... Year of the CuDi

12:46 AM / Posted by Robert / comments (0)

Ohio rappers are doing big things these days. Think Ray Cash, Chip tha Ripper, Hi-Tek, and Bone Thugz and you'll realize that this new dude on the scene has had his way paved by big names in the rap game. Despite the trailblazers that came before him Kid Cudi, officially Scott Mescudi, decided he needed to flip the game completely on its head to get his point across... and get his point across he does. Cudi's smooth delivery and guy next door feel have got fans going nuts from Cleveland to Los Angeles. Living in the Kenyon bubble, I thought I was feeling CuDi all on my own. Little did I know he was getting spins even in my hometown. Mr. Solo Dolo is getting huge fast and for good reason... His music is amazing! Moon Man has dropped 3 mixtapes and each one picks up where the last left off and then ups the ante. He can spit it hard on classic hip hop beats, flow effortlessly over new age indielectro jams, and he can even sing a lil bit. KiD CuDi IS THE FUTURE... and if you heard it hear first drop your man a comment. :)
